We are delighted to announce the arrival of CPIP's newest researchers

Catherine Abe – Research Associate 
Catherine joined the CPIP in March 2017 as a Research Associate to support and drive projects within the centre.

She recently graduate from an MSc in Human Resource Management at Nottingham Business School (NTU). As part of this, she undertook a consultancy project evaluating learning and development in a third sector organisation. She also conducted research on the role of leadership in developing learning organisations, and on the differences in equal opportunities and managing diversity.

Prior to her Masters Catherine gained an LLB in Law and worked as a HR generalist and as an advisor on a graduate development programme. Her main interest lies within learning and development and its effect on individual and organisational performance. Catherine looks forward to the exposure the centre provides her in this area and is excited about supporting other research projects within the CPIP and NBS.

Adam Kitt – Research Associate

Adam currently holds a Master of Science in Organisational Behaviour degree from Aston University at distinction level, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Leeds Beckett.

He is currently a Research Associate for the Centre. Adam performs a variety of roles which aids to advance the current understanding in people management with aims to enhance innovation and performance through macro-, meso-, and micro-levels of organisational analysis.

Adam was recently awarded a Vice Chancellor PhD scholarship at NTU in ‘HRM and Organisational Innovation’, which starts in October, 2017.

Adam’s research interests revolve around HRM, creativity and innovation, work-life balance, effective leadership, well-being in the workplace, and organisational performance. After his PhD, Adam aims to continue into academia with aspirations to be a Professor in the future.”

 

Silvia Pirrioni – PhD Student

Silvia holds a Bachelor Degree in Public Relations (University of Udine) and a MSc in Human Resource Management and Development (University of Manchester).

Her research interests include human resource management, learning and development, with a focus on how organisations can create the conditions to foster employees’ learning and performance.

Her interest on learning and development started with an in-depth case study on a small-medium enterprise. The research, conducted as part of my MSc, investigated how SMEs can build on their limited resources to enhance informal learning.

She is a Lecturer in Foundations of Managing and Organising at Nottingham Business School member of the British Academy of Management
